Our image editing, preparation and printing services include working collaboratively with artists and the finest papers, inksets and our custom profiles on Epson, Canon and HP large format archival pigment printers to 1625mm (64″) wide by any length. We are not a ‘print on demand’ facility, but a co-operative studio where you work with and beside us during every stage of your file’s preparation and printing to ensure the result equals, if not exceeds your own expectations.

Our profiling services cover all digital equipment, from ICC and DNG scanner and camera profiles to custom RGB, B&W and CMYK printer profiles with a guaranteed ave. DeltaE2000 < 1.0. Custom variations of each profile are available at no extra charge, for example, balancing Lightness versus Chroma compression, expanded shadow separation, custom white and black points, and other enhancements.

Our consulting services include the design and implementation of ICC colour managed workflows including custom input and output profiling, quantitative analysis, quality control audits, pre-press and reprographic services, and photographic workflow management.

Our training services include work-place workshops, project mentoring, and one-on-one tuition in your studio or our studio. An extensive range of public and private courses, workshops, seminars and lectures are also presented each year.

We also run the Canson Certified Master Printer Program (CCMP) through Kayell Australia for Canson and have designed it to support professional print providers such as Photo Labs, Artists, Museums and Galleries. To be awarded the title ‘Canson Certified Master Printer’ acknowledges that you are capable of rigorously and consistently producing inkjet prints of the highest possible aesthetic and technical quality. The certification program through its demanding adherence to exacting production and quality control standards provides independent acknowledgement of your exemplary craftsmanship and artistic commitment to the fine art of digital print making. We create the certified CCMP printer profiles as well as run the twelve monthly verification and annual education seminars. Since 2016 we have also run the separate Canson Certified Printer Program for professional photographers, artists, illustrators, and designers, which provides the same highest imaginable quality and stunningly beautiful printer profiles from the Canson Certified Master Printer Program, only without the additional quality assurance criteria and pre requisites of a professional print provider.  For more information please see CCMP.

Our reprographic services include reflective and transmissive works of any size using multi-shot 200 mpx Hasselblad digital cameras to produce non-interpolated true 16bit files to 1.22GB (16352 x 12264 pixels). Our light sources and illuminant specific ICC camera profiles ensure a colorimetric accuracy of DeltaE2000 < 2.0 across our standard test charts.

Our scanning services include 16-bit diffuse density non-interpolated scanning of B&W negatives to 16352 x 12264 pixels (1730mm x 2330mm x 180ppi), and 32-bit HDR diffuse density non-interpolated scanning of RGB transparencies to 16352 x 12264 pixels (1730mm x 2330mm x 180ppi) or 8176 x 6132 pixels (865mm x 1165mm x 180ppi). Our 32-bit HDR scans incorporate an expanded dynamic range resulting in noiseless shadows with maximum detail irrespective of the transparency’s original density or dynamic range. They are provided as Photoshop Smart Objects allowing you to re render the RAW scan to your individual specifications. We also offer Creo iQsmart3 16-bit scanning with fluid mounting for film originals at non-interpolated resolutions up to 10,000 x 5500 ppi.

Over the years we have also had the great privilege of extensive collaborations with many other artists, including Virgil Donati since 1985 as photographer, writer, producer and director (video), Peter Kennedy since 2000 as a digital compositor, editor and printer, and from 2005 with Polixeni Papapetrou in the creation of ten bodies of her work (including Haunted Country 2006, Games of Consequence 2008, Between Worlds 2009-2012, Dream Keepers 2012, The Ghillies 2013, Melancholia 2014, Lost Psyche 2014, Its all about me 2016, Eden 2016), and since 2008 with Bill Henson during his initial transition from analogue to digital production and subsequent revelations.
